Texture is part of the repair scope
Ask how the existing wall texture will be matched and what area will be finished. A repair estimate that lists patching alone may not include blending the surrounding surface.
Color depends on more than the new patch
The existing finish may have weathered or been painted at different times. Ask whether color work is limited to the patch, extends across a wall section, or requires repainting. Set that expectation before work begins.
Compare a defined result
Use a wide wall photo and a close-up as the reference for the estimate. Confirm the proposed finish area in writing. Do not treat an invisible repair as guaranteed unless the contractor specifically agrees to that result.
Ask before approving the repair
- Which area will be patched and which area will be finished?
- Does the price include texture work and color matching?
- Is repainting part of the quote?
- How will a change in scope be agreed?
Include the affected wall and your preferred finish in the estimate request.
